FAS payments are funded by the Treasury, so will not be affected by the difficult situation in financial markets. We’d also like to reassure you that we will be able to continue paying members as normal. Your usual payments will not change.

More Hampshire decisions confirmed

In our recent update about progress on uncapping PPF compensation, we still had to finalise whether to put a six-year time limit on arrears payments due to PPF and FAS pensioners. This followed the Court of Appeal’s judgments on the methodology for implementing the ECJ’s Hampshire decision and the PPF compensation cap. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and our Board have now finalised those decisions.

ECJ judgment in PSV v Bauer

The recent ECJ judgment in the case of PSV v Gunther Bauer has restated that, as a minimum, every individual must receive at least 50% of their accrued benefits.
