For National Apprenticeship Week 2023, we're celebrating the achievements of our apprentices and the diversity of skills and experience they bring.

We’re also sharing more information on apprenticeship opportunities at the PPF and first-hand insight into what it’s like to be an apprentice.

Apprenticeships at the PPF

As well as providing opportunities for an individual’s personal development, we believe that apprenticeships benefit our organisation by improving the diversity of our workforce and developing skills that meet our future needs.

Our first apprentice joined us in 2018 and since then we're proud to have supported 33 apprentices - including 18 participants who have already completed their training and gained professional qualifications.

We’re  proud to provide a range of apprenticeship options which anyone can take advantage of. Apprenticeships can support you whether you’re taking on your first job role or are further along in your career and are looking for new professional development opportunities.

During your apprenticeship, you’ll have the opportunity to learn in a real working environment while benefitting from six hours a week of further study at college, online or through internal projects, all whilst earning a salary and working towards a professional qualification.

Our apprenticeships provide opportunities for all, and we’re committed to being an inclusive employer.

We celebrate diversity in all forms through regular events and discussion groups, have a clear diversity and inclusion strategy and have signed a range of diversity and inclusion initiatives and charters, including the HM Treasury’s Women in Finance Charter, the Business in the Community Race at Work Charter and are a Disability Confident Leader.

What our Apprentices say

Louis Dent, PPF apprentice

“The main reason I applied for the apprenticeship programme was to learn new skills and gain practical experience within management and leadership, whilst continuing in my current Senior Pensions Administration role.

The combination of having line management responsibility, allocated study time and support from a tutor and my own manager seemed like the ideal opportunity to develop new skills and progress further in my career.”

Grace Nebbett-Sales
Grace Nebbett-Sales, PPF apprentice

“For me, it has been a great decision. I didn’t want to spend lots of money going to college and my apprenticeship has not only allowed me to work close to home, but I’ve also been paid to learn.

Throughout my apprenticeship I’ve studied all aspects of pensions from defined contribution to hybrid schemes and investments.

Balancing the work was challenging, but I loved it. After finishing my apprenticeship with a distinction, I’ve secured a permanent job at the PPF.”
