The first PPF SME Forum, which took place at the end of February, saw representatives from DB schemes of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), their advisers, representative bodies and the PPF gather together to discuss a range of topics from good customer service to measuring insolvency risk.

Coming from as far afield as Leeds, Cardiff and St Leonards on Sea, Forum members took part in a number of interactive break-out groups which generated lively and engaged discussion on all sides.

Feedback

Oliver Morley, PPF Chief Executive, welcomed the constructive atmosphere of the meeting, commenting that he found it “incredibly candid, considered, thoughtful, and really constructive”. David Taylor, Executive Director and General Counsel, who had chaired the session, echoed the sentiment, adding that it was “so good to hear directly from the people dealing with these issues every day”.

Comments from SME representatives were equally positive:

“It gave us lots of opportunity to raise points.”
“The discussions seem to be well received on both sides…we found it a useful addition to our means of communication with the PPF.”
“The atmosphere allowed real and meaningful feedback.”

Next Steps

We are now working through the feedback and expect to update the Forum members in the coming months on how we can incorporate suggestions into future activity.

The next meeting will take place in September 2019.
