The Pension Protection Fund (PPF) announced today (30 June, 2016) the appointment of Jayne Nickalls as a Non-Executive Director.
 
Jayne has an extensive level of digital, IT and change experience and is currently a Non-Executive Director at the Financial Services Compensation Scheme and at UK based web experience supplier Jadu, where she advises on business development and strategy. Jayne was also VP Consulting Services (Northern Europe) of US software company Chordiant Software from 1998 to 2004, joining its start-up phase for the UK and leading the delivery of a wide range of enterprise solutions to clients across a number of industries, including financial services.
 
From 2005 Jayne spent six years as CEO of Directgov, the Government’s central public services website. Under her leadership the service transformed from start-up to an established, successful business at the heart of the Government’s digital strategy.
 
PPF Chairman, Lady Barbara Judge said: “As I come to the end of my term as Chairman of the PPF, I am delighted that one of my last actions in this role is to welcome Jayne. She brings with her a wealth of digital expertise which will help us to improve services for more than 220,000 PPF members and provide them with the security and confidence that their financial future is protected.”
 
Jayne Nickalls comments: “I am thrilled to be joining the PPF as a Non-Executive Director and look forward to supporting the organisation in its vital work. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience to help the organisation continue developing services for members as it grows in size, scope and sophistication.”

The Pension Protection Fund:
The Pension Protection Fund protects millions of people throughout the United Kingdom who belong to defined benefit pension schemes. If their employers go bust, and their pension schemes cannot afford to pay what they promised, the PPF will pay compensation for their lost pensions. Tens of thousands of people now receive compensation from the PPF and hundreds of thousands more will do so in the future.
