Today, we’ve launched our new Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) strategy, that reaffirms our commitment to being an inclusive employer and outlines how we plan to go even further in embedding equity across all areas of our organisation.

We’re proud of the progress we’ve made in the last five years in delivering our 2020-2025 Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) strategy. Our new DEI strategy builds on the achievements we’ve already delivered and reflects our growing focus on equity.

Targeted actions

We understand the role DEI plays in creating a culture of inclusion, bringing diversity of thought, and helping to make our organisation a workplace where everyone feels safe and respected, no matter their background.

Our strategy sets out targeted actions for 2025–28 which will help us to achieve our DEI targets:

  • Cement the understanding that everyone has a part to play, and everyone benefits from driving DEI outcomes
  • Educate people to feel they have the confidence and skills to create an inclusive environment
  • Ensure we have the data needed to understand the impact of our actions
  • Contribute to conversations across our industry to show commitment and drive change

We’ve published a roadmap of objectives and activities for each of the three years of our DEI strategy.

Additional focus on social mobility and LGBTQ+ inclusion

As we build on our previous D&I strategy, that focussed on gender, ethnicity and disability, our DEI strategy includes two new target areas of social mobility and LGBTQ+ inclusion.

By increasing our DEI focus areas from three to five, we’re ensuring that we support more aspects of our employees’ identities.

Michelle Ostermann, Chief Executive Officer, said, “We’re proud of the progress we’ve made in the last five years, but we know there is still more to do. This is why we have made a conscious choice to go even further with this new strategy and increase our focus on equity, so we can ensure the PPF is an organisation where everyone can be their best selves. This can only benefit us all – from our employees through to our members and our partners.”

Dana Grey, Chief Governance, Legal and Risk Officer and Executive Committee Sponsor for DEI, added, “This strategy is about recognising the richness of everyone’s identity and ensuring we are fostering a culture that respects difference and embraces it in an inclusive environment. I am proud to be part of an organisation that continues to prioritise delivering these outcomes for the benefit of everyone.”
